Super Castlevania IV is one of those games where the first playthrough is goddamned amazing but every subsequent playthrough feels more and more like a chore, as all of the neat technical tricks it does goes from being mindblowing to a cheap little novelty. I prefer Bloodlines' brisker, more arcade like pacing and design to IV's slower, more methodical feel. Morrigan's sprite doesn't have shit on that.īloodlines > IV has always been more of a personal (and controversial) opinion of mine. It has the most replay value of the three, an excellent OST, and visuals so good, Konami would reuse assets from them for the next 15 years. Rondo's definitely my favorite of the three. ![]()
